MEET THE ARTIST. . .

I was born in Brooklyn and grew up in New York City, a place full of all kinds of sights and sounds. At the time, my mobility was limited and I spent many days looking out of the window of our apartment, drawing what I observed. This led me to develop a love for capturing the images around me.

After attending high school in New Jersey, I graduated from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. With my degree in hand, I moved south to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and pursued a career while raising a family.

In 1989, my husband and I purchased a cabin in the North Carolina mountains on the shores of Lake Chatuge. Inspired by the beauty of nature surrounding our home, I was drawn back to my love for drawing and began painting in oils and pastels.

We moved to Atlanta in 1999 and, since then, I have studied with several well-known local and national artists. My work has been accepted in many city-wide and regional juried art shows and has won multiple awards. My paintings are in private and corporate collections throughout the United States.

I am a member of the Southeastern Pastel Society, the Atlanta Artist Center, and Kudzu Art Zone. I also belong to Southern Colours, a group of serious artists who meet weekly to paint together, share artistic experiences, and critique each other's work.

The inspiration for my art comes from the time I have spent on the coast of Florida and in the Georgia and North Carolina mountains, as well as my travels across the United States and Europe. I continue to find fresh, new worlds all around me.

With attention to both texture and light, I seek to tell a story through my paintings by capturing a time, place, and mood that I can share with the viewer. My favorite subjects are ordinary people doing ordinary things.

My studio is in East Cobb County, GA. Phone: (770) 321-4391
